HELLION Extra Quality
Hellion is a mainly red creature type used for cards that depict enormous, wormlike creatures with scaly, snakelike bodies, spiky knobs along their sides, and a ring of tentacles surrounding a toothy maw, the danger of which is usually superseded by the fact that hellion maws are often glowing. Hellions are unique to Magic in this depiction, with the closest real-life inspiration being supersized dobsonfly larvae (also known as hellgrammites) given a mouth like a lamprey eel or leech.
A hellion (憑魔, hyouma?, "possessing evil") is a type of creature in Tales of Zestiria. Hellions are created from malevolence, impurities born from the negative emotions of humanity, and threaten the existence of humans and seraphim. In the time of Tales of Berseria, they were known as daemons.
The Lord of Calamity is a being that gives rise to the hellions. They cannot be seen by normal human eyes, and humans and animals possessed by the malevolence appear to them as if they were normal. Seraphim and humans with high spiritual energy are able to see hellions, which can take on a variety of forms, such as slimes and human-animal hybrids. Only a few beings are able to deal with hellions; a Shepherd typically wields the power of the Silver Flame to purify them. Zaveid also possesses an unique firearm called "Siegfried" capable of killing hellions, which is different from purifying them. It is not known what happens to hellions that are defeated in combat without either the means to purify or kill them, but numerous seraphim can at least do that much. Presumably, they recover quickly.
Hellion the Fiery Foe is one of the Good Beasts of Tavania. A golem-like creature made up of swirling flames, the fire is only a product of his true body, which is large but thin, consists of a dark coal-like substance, and possesses short stumpy arms. The Beast makes his home in Tavania's volcano. Hellion takes name inspiration from Helios, Greek god of the sun, as well as the word hellion, a word that comes from Helios and describes rowdy behaviour, and has connections to the flames of anarchy. Due to Elenna's parents being killed in a fire when she was young, Hellion is one of very few Beasts where trauma and phobia (in this case pyrophobia) plays into their fight.
